FAQ
Questions & answers
- Who is this actually for?
- Anyone in the North East who wants to understand AI without the marketing spin. That includes junior developers wanting portfolio evidence, designers exploring UX/UI, project managers curious about AI workflows, business owners who want honest answers about what AI can do for them, and experienced developers who want to mentor and learn at the same time.
- Is this a course or a bootcamp?
- Neither. It's a six-week community project where you work on real briefs with real people. Think of it like a delivery simulation: discovery, planning, building, review, handover. You'll learn by doing, not by watching videos.
- I'm not technical. Is there a point in me joining?
- Absolutely. Some of the most valuable participants are business professionals and project managers who bring domain expertise. You don't need to write a line of code. You'll learn how AI fits into real operations and decision-making, and you'll help the technical folks understand what actually matters to the people using these tools.
- How is this different from other AI communities?
- We're focused specifically on the North East, and we're built around doing rather than talking. There's no vendor agenda, just a group of volunteers who want to help people in the region get practical, hands-on experience with AI that they can apply to their work and lives.
- Does it cost anything?
- No. AGENTSdotNE is completely free and always will be. It's a volunteer-led community initiative. We do this because we're passionate about helping the North East grow, not because there's a business model behind it.
- How do you actually use AI in the programme?
- As a tool, not a gimmick. Participants use AI for prototyping, documentation, workflow automation, and implementation support — whatever makes sense for their role. The point isn't to use AI for everything. It's to figure out where it genuinely helps and where it doesn't.
- How much time do I need to commit?
- We recognise that people have existing roles and commitments, and this isn't meant to be onerous. We recommend committing two to four hours per week over the six-week period to support your project group. Some people will have more time, and that's great. We understand if things crop up and you can't participate for a week, but it's important for the group that everyone offers a baseline commitment.
